Discipleship

Discipleship is the process every Christian follows to become more like Christ. At Kure Beach First Baptist Church we are intentional about helping people engage in healthy discipleship. While attending one of the worship services on Sunday morning is a vital part of Christian growth, it needs to be paired with sharing life in a smaller, more intimate setting through a traditional Sunday morning Bible Study Class or through what we call Community Groups (Small Groups).

Community Group Mission Statement:

Kure Beach First Baptist Church is a church of community based small groups. Our Community Groups seek to cultivate spiritual growth, build authentic community and make disciples through gospel-centered living. Each Community Group is a welcoming place for everyone regardless of their spiritual journey, to connect, learn and grow together. Our Community Groups exist to support each other in becoming fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.

How the Subversive Way of Jesus Satisfies Our Souls

Modern life often overloads us with choices. What we think, how we act, and, ultimately, where our lives are headed are all influenced by what we value. For Christians, if we aren’t intentional with our choices, we can wind up far from where God intends us to be.

In this five-session series, author and pastor Rich Villodas will teach us about the formative choice we face: Will we walk the narrow path of Jesus or the broad path that leads to despair? While the narrow path may seem restrictive, when we walk it with Jesus, we will find the fullness of life we long for.

We have several community based Small Groups that meet regularly for Bible study, fellowship, mutual support and serving in the neighborhoods of our community. Each Small Group has a leader or a team of leaders that facilitate all that the group does. We have groups that meet almost every day of the week, some meeting during the day and others meeting in the evening. Every Small Group has an “empty chair” in the room that is ready to welcome new members. If you are looking for a place to connect with other people and grow in your relationship with God please try one of our small groups. We have three Sunday Morning Bible Study Classes that meet regularly between our two services at 9:30 AM at the Church Campus

•    Study of the Books of the Bible

•    Women’s Class

•    Men’s Class

These classes are about 45 minutes long and are convenient for people attending either one of our Sunday Worship Services. There is no need to register for any of these classes - just show up. Click the button below if you would like to connect with someone about any of these classes before you attend for the first time.

  Sunday Classes

We believe there is value in short term classes that address a specific area of discipleship and spiritual growth. Throughout the year we offer classes at various times during the week, on a variety of topics that can be as short as one class up to 12 weeks. Topics include: finances, marriage, parenting, spiritual disciplines, spiritual gifts, men’s interests, women’s interests, how to study the Bible, as well as many others. Check our weekly newsletter, Facebook page or website for future offerings. If there is a specific area of interest you have please use the button below to let us know.
