Missions
We were created to impact all nations for the glory of Christ. The testimony of Scripture from Genesis to Revelation is that we were created to enjoy God’s grace in relationship to Him, so that we may extend His glory to the ends of the earth. Matthew 28:19 commands and commissions us to “go and make disciples of all nations…”
Our strategy is to give to the Baptist Cooperative programs for missionary work in this country and in other nations. We also offer opportunities to go on mission trips through our local network of Baptist Churches. We support the Operation Christmas Shoebox program of Samaritan’s Purse and the NC Baptist Men in their work across the state through our giving and the volunteer work of our members. We organize local mission opportunities when the need arises. We give to our local school on the island to show teacher appreciation by providing lunch for the teachers several times during the year. We give monthly to the Help Center on the island working with people in need and collect food for them during Thanksgiving and Christmas. We also give to the Life Line Pregnancy Center and Baptist Children’s Home.
We are in a unique position to reach for Christ through our early service at the Kure Beach Pavilion. Our new Retreat Center offers other mission groups, volunteers or churches the opportunity to visit our area for their work or retreats. This also gives us the opportunity to minister and support them while they are here.
HOW TO GIVE:
On the third Sunday of each month, we encourage our members to give to the iGive 330 program. We ask that they pray for missionaries around the world for 30 minutes and give $30 to go towards mission programs. Checks given for this purpose should have iGive 330 on the memo line.
